This is me
Hello, my name is Zoey.
I am a media design student majoring in design for interaction.
My passion lies in transforming a design into code while delivering the best possible experience to the end user.
When creating a product, I am immersed in the target audience from start to finish, putting myself in the role of the user. I set high standards for my code and work, focusing on performance and minimizing the amount of code.
When creating a product, I have an eye for detail and make sure it is perfect down to the pixel. I feel at home working with Javascript and frameworks such as React.js. I spend my own time working with these frameworks to keep my knowledge up to date about the field and its recent developments.
In design, a good user experience for the user is an advantage. I am eager to learn and am always expanding my knowledge of the field.
My strengths are coding, collaboration, motivation and performance. I want to develop myself further in design, in which it still happens sometimes that the quality does not meet my standards.

Where am I doing my internship?
I am interning at Yummygum at the Jacob Van Lennepkade 334 in Amsterdam. Yummygum is a design agency that designs and develops digital products. Yummygum also works on plugins for programs like sketch and themes for programs like VScode.
The owners of Yummygum are Leon and Vince. My practical trainer is Vince, I work with my teammates on the projects. In coding, I work with my colleagues Nils, Noud and Donovan. Nils, Noud and Donovan all work mainly on front-end development of the products. Jeff, Vince, Leon, Yakim and Robert deal with designing the products.
At Yummygum we use the consultation form 'scrum' further we have a 'linkin-park' twice a week, here we discuss links such as articles we have shared with each other. At the end of linkin-park we go through which projects are running and what the progress is.
Yummygum mainly makes websites and web apps and app designs, so we often provide the design and sometimes the front-end of the product. Furthermore Yummygum also makes products for the public like Sketch confetti* (a plugin for sketch with which you can generate confetti in sketch) and City Lights* (a theme for code editors like VScode).
Websites and web apps are created for startups and also large companies such as Tripadvisor and NOS. Plugins and themes like Sketch Cleaner are made for designers and developers.
Yummygum recently partnered with adobe to create plugins for adobe XD. Through the Adobe fund for design.
My workplace
We all work in one room, I work at my desk on a Mac screen and my Macbook.
My daily tasks
My daily work at Yummygum consists of working on the front-end of projects such as Jollycons. So this includes working in React* (a javascript framework), Sass* (CSS with more functionalities), Gitsby* (a framework built on React) and MJML* (a framework to easily create responsive emails).
This is what I will learn
In my internship at Yummygum, I expect to learn more about working with clients, creating emails and realizing designs to code. Furthermore, I also hope to improve my design skills when I have time to do so. Furthermore, I also hope to learn more with working as a team on a code base and my knowledge on Bitbucket.
Furthermore, within Yummygum I also have internal SMILIs these are learning points that I set over a period of three months.
What will I do the upcoming weeks?
I will continue working on the active projects by Yummygum in the coming weeks. In doing so, I will probably work mostly on Yummygum lab projects (these are projects for products released by Yummygum) and thus not for external clients.
